B. CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
Following the development of the preliminary space summary, a color block concept was
developed to confirm the diagrammatic spatial relationships between the various departments as
well as any other factors that may influence the size of building, project budget, or operational cost
considerations. The following diagram represents the concept developed to include all
components from the program summary to scale by overall square footage for this study. On the
following page, the color blocks are generally situated on the site to illustrate the amount of land
required and how the facility would relate to the surrounding properties, roads, topography, and
other site elements that could affect the property’s ability to be fully developed.
