• Released permits for 1 sign, 3 roofs, 1 window replacement and 2 new construction single family
homes
• Issued notices for 4 tall grass, 2 grass clippings in the roadway, 1 no 911 address numbers on
house, 1 junk, 5 exterior dwelling maintenance, 2 inoperable vehicles, 1 notice of unregistered
STR, 1 plant growth into public street, 4 citations
• Preparing data for interactive map (Town boundary, Zoning, Arts & entertainment, etc.)
Police Department
• 7/10, Chief Downing attended the Eastern Shore Law Enforcement Coordination Quarterly
Intelligence Call.
• 7/29, The Berlin Police Department hosted the monthly Apartment Manager’s meeting. A/Cpl
Bratten coordinated the meeting of four managers attending, representing seven different
properties. Discussion included current problem units and evictions, parking and towing policies,
additions and upgrades of some camera systems.
• 7/31, Cpl Marshall chaperoned the Berlin Youth Club (Worcester Youth & Family Counseling
Services) as the Berlin Police Department sponsored the children to the Altitude Trampoline
Park and Delmar Pizza.
• 8/2, Lt Fisher and Cpl Lloyd assisted the Snow Hill Police Department with the Blessing of the
Combines.
• 8/2, Sgt Bragg, A/Cpl Bratten, and PFC R. Collins provided traffic control, and safety and security
for the annual Pech Festival.
• Collisions – 6
• Arrest – 6
Public Works
• Assisted in setting up for the Peach Festival, closed streets, and maintained trash cans. Great
event with a lot of attendees.
• Cut grass, beautified, and helped the Berlin Police Department prepare for National Night Out
• The EWF mulch has been set for the new climbers at SDP, so the new playground additions are
in full use.
• We have continued to trim trees along town streets that could potentially come into contact
with vehicles/pedestrians under certain conditions. We will continue to clear all town streets
and sidewalks of these issues in the coming weeks.
• Normal trash/recycling collection continues weekly.
• Weekly street sweeping/maintenance is taking place as well.
• Grass cutting and weed trimming in town parks and town-owned areas are being completed
daily as weather allows.
Water Resources
• Fixed water leak on Flower ST
• Cleaned 346 West and William ST lift stations. Both had pumps down
• Repaired Graham Ave lift station
• Pressed sludge
• Helped set up and break down National Night Out
• Installed new actuator on influent SBR 2
